Rega Research has just announced the release of a limited Special Edition version of their Apollo CD player. This one time limited production (500 worldwide - less than 100 will be available here in the states) version of the Apollo which incorporates a number of refinements normally only available in the much more expensive Saturn player plus a few other nice touches will run $1,695 retail.

The player marks Rega's 35th anniversary in business. The improvements are also exclusive to this Special Edition player... in other words, the improvements will not be introduced into regular Apollo players at a later date. • A custom solid aluminum front facia with aluminum feet, and aluminium control buttons.


• A more precise clocking mechanism that ensures lower noise and jitter.


• Upgraded capacitors. Polyester units are replaced with high spec polypropylene units.


• A dedicated power supply that prevents noise from getting into the clock circuit.


• Upgraded parts tolerances throughout the player.


• Lovely black and only black finish!
